Set Up Your Chatbot Quickly and Easily

Setting up Apartment Ocean Chatbot is easy, and only requires a few minutes. You’ll customize a brief greeting, and copy a piece of code into your website. The entire process takes less than two minutes. We’ll show you exactly how to get this amazing technology on your site, and how to customize it so that your visitors feel your personal connection.

Starting Off

Let’s start at and click the “Add bot to my website” where you can create a new account by filling in your info and clicking on “Register” just underneath the sign-in button.

Be sure to choose an appealing username, something that represents you.  Your username should not contain any spaces. Use a secure password, and enter it once again to verify. Hit “Register”, and that’s it! Now you have an account. All that’s left to do is customize.

Customizing Your Chatbot


Once you’ve registered, look for the “Widget Install” button on the gray menu bar located on the left-hand side of the screen.  You will need to copy and paste a piece of code, but let’s hold off on that for now.

Scroll down on this next screen to the field where you see “Greeting Message”. This is where you will fill out your own customized greeting, to be given to new visitors of your site. Try something warm and inviting, like “Hi {username}, you’re using an assistant of John Smith’s. We’re here to provide excellent customer service.”  Choose something personal that might make your visitors feel like they are actually talking to you. Finally, hit “Save”.

Scroll back up to the top of the page and hit the “Copy” button. Now, you will want to get into the file manager of your website. You want to paste it into the header file of your site, just after <body>. Update your file manager with the code snippet saved, and that’s it! Now, when visitors go to your site, they can choose to chat, and will be welcomed with your own customized greeting.

Note: If you choose to, you can restrict certain websites from using your code. You can enter sites that you want to block just above the customization field. Remember to hit “Save” before you close the window.

Using and Tracking Your Chatbot


Once you’ve had some visitors use your Chatbot service, they will leave the information you need to generate some statistics. You can easily access these chat logs and statistics under the left menu bar of your online portal, under “Statistics”. Gather the information you need, and get in touch with the client at your convenience, or right there when they are still on the site.

It is important to note that your site traffic will likely vary greatly, so you will want to keep a close eye on the statistics, especially when you first get started. You might find that more visitors are using the Chatbot than you expected! If you are noticing almost nobody using your Chatbot, you might want to consider changing your greeting message. Remember, a personal greeting is highly suggested. It might take a little testing to see what really works, but ultimately you will find a greeting that resonates well with your visitors.
